We build webiste to publish our opinion, and we all want our website to be visited on the internet. We do lots of thing just to promote our website, but a big problem is how do you know that people 're visiting your website and what they 're visiting and when and how, what is people 's favourite of your website. the answer is google analytics.

Why use google analytic

Before I use google analytic, I have little intention to use it cause I could get some of these information using tools from my web hosting cpanel.

In fact almost all of the web hosting using cpanel provide webmaster with website statistics tools. It is called Webalizer, which collect the website visit statistics information automatically.

An exmaple of webalizer statistics is Top 5 Exit Pages of my website.

When I start to use google analytic, I find Webalizer's statistics information worth nothing comparing to google analytic, Google analytic is such powerful tools that I think every webmaster should integrate their website with it. and here 's some screen shot that you 're supposed to get after integrate your website with google analytic.

Install drupal google analytic module

Drupal has come with the google analytic integration module and google analytic configuration for drupal is really easy

1. download the google analytics module here.
2. extract the archived file under the drupal directory 'sites->all->modules'
3. enable the module under drupal administration menu 'Site building->modules'
4. configure the module under drupal administration menu 'Site configuration->Google Analytics'.

   In fact, there 's only one parameter to be configured, It is the google analytics account number that google will provide to you after your registration .
